Co:lab
Lynk & Co Innovation Team, 2021–2024
Co:lab started as a graduate program and grew into something harder to define. A team of three with a brief that was essentially: find the cool and weird stuff, physical or digital, and make it happen.
That included managing the co:lab community platform. A space where Lynk & Co members could share ideas, react to concepts, and tell us what they actually wanted. We used it as a sounding board, a research tool, and occasionally a place to test whether an idea had legs before we committed to building it.
“Let’s Chat” and “Hey Honk” are two features of the many ideas that made it into cars.
Let’s chat
Conversation Starter, Lynk & Co 01, 02 & 08
A question app built into the car. It starts by asking how well you know the people in the seat next to you — from "we just share a ride" to "we even share a toothbrush" — and calibrates from there. Silly to deep. Penguins to parents. The kind of questions that make a two-hour drive feel like twenty minutes.
Hey Honk
A friendly car horn 2021-2024
Your horn is louder than your personality. Hey Honk fixes that. Choose your sound, greet your friends, twinkle with your headlights. A small feature with a very specific job: make the car feel like yours.
Somewhere in the research phase, co:lab taped a speaker to the front of a car and drove around Gothenburg testing sounds on unsuspecting pedestrians. This is called methodology. And fun.
