Kintsugi is the Japanese word for repairing broken pottery with gold. The idea is that the break is part of the story, not something to hide.As a philosophy it treats damage as part of an object's history rather than a reason to throw it away. It is connected to wabi-sabi, the acceptance of imperfection. In a world that worships newness, that feels like a radical position.
